Cafe Weekend Assistant

Job Summary

Spadework is a charity in Offham offering training and work experience for people with learning disabilities in a commercial, yet supportive environment.

We are seeking an outstanding individual to come and be part of our friendly team of staff, trainees and volunteers in a beautiful and rural setting.

Spadework is looking for an Assistant to work weekends in our Cafe.

The hours of work will be 9am to 4pm and you may be required to work on either Saturday or Sunday, or both, depending on the needs of the business.

The position would suit a student as extra hours may be available at busy times and during holidays. Duties may include; serving customers, helping in the kitchen, making teas and coffees, waiting on and clearing tables, helping to ensure the cafe is clean and tidy and other general duties.

This is a minimum wage position and the rate of pay will vary with the age of the applicant in line with legislation.

Although not essential, you will ideally have experience of working with people with learning disabilities; however, it is essential to be kind, supportive and have a genuine desire to promote the development and interests of people with disabilities.

Zero hour contract to work weekends in a Charity Cafe.

Salary £4.35 – £8.21 per hour

Cafe Volunteer

We are hoping to find a Volunteer to work within our Charity Cafe, either Front of House or in the Kitchen.

Spadework is a local charity which provides life skills training and work experience for over 90 adults with learning difficulties and disabilities in a commercial yet supportive environment.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, friendly person, preferably with catering and hospitality experience and a passion for good food, to work in our Cafe.

Ideally, you will be a competent cook able to work in a busy kitchen, with an interest in passing on food, cooking and customer service skills to our Trainees (adults with learning and other disabilities).
